Daughter consistently scoring only Us for H2 Maths

Dear Mr Koh, 

                     I chanced upon your site whilst browsing through a local education forum.

                    My daughter is presently studying in XJC (arts stream) and has been scoring Us all this while; fyi she attained only 29 out of 100 in the promotional examinations. To be frank her math ability wasn't strong since her secondary school days -  she scored only B3 and C6 for E Maths and A Maths respectively in the 'O' Levels.

                    Would you be able to assist her in getting back on track to securing a distinction? Just so you know she is rather stubborn and thoroughly detests the subject.

       Thank you for your message. While I appreciate the concern surrounding your daughter severely underperforming in the subject thus far, what probably matters more is that we attempt to rehabilitate her disliking towards Maths one step at a time. Reorganize her foundation, allow her to confront her fears and most importantly fortify her confidence bit by bit. Once she begins to open up suitably might we proceed to focus on troubleshooting her grades. Hope this helps put things in perspective. Peace.
